Twente confirm Fulham and Newcastle interest in Douglas

Twente chairman Joop Munsterman has confirmed that Fulham and Newcastle United are interested in signing defender Douglas.

Munsterman has also confirmed that the club is prepared to sell the 24-year-old defender before the transfer window closes.

Douglas' current contract with Twente is set to expire next summer.

"Both clubs (Fulham & Newcastle) told us they want to do business with us," Munsterman told Voetbal International.

"We didn't received any offers yet, but when they want to pay a fair price, Douglas may leave the club. Because otherwise he will leave Twente for free next year."
