Carvallo claims Henriquez was wrong to join Man Utd

Chilean U20 national side sporting director Fernando Carvallo believes Angelo Henriquez was wrong to join Manchester United.

Carvallo believes the 18-year-old would have been better advised to spend more time playing football in Chile.

"Bryan Rabello is playing in Sevilla B, Diego Rubin isn't under consideration at Sporting and Angelo Henriquez won't get many opportunities at Manchester United," Carvallo said.

"It would have been better for him to continue growing at Universidad de Chile.

"It's an advantage to have players in Europe, but the acceleration of their growth process does suffer.

"In Chile a lot of them were regulars for their teams, but over there they aren't really under consideration."
