Aguero "would have chosen Madrid over City"

Sergio Aguero has said he would have chosen Real Madrid over Man City if they had tried to buy him last year.

Aguero moved to City from Atletico Madrid but the Argentine insists he would have stayed in Madrid had he had another option.

"If Real Madrid had been interested, I'd be there. I'm at City because Madrid showed no real interest in me. Now, I take the opportunity to deny the information that I supposedly said I'd never play at Madrid because I've played at Atlético," he said.

"This was published in an English paper. Now I'm playing at City and think about nothing else."

Aguero later sent a message on Twitter clarifying his comments and insisting he is happy at City.
