Hodgson open to giving Cole armband
Roy Hodgson might give Ashley Cole the captain's armband for England in their midweek clash with Poland.
The player would make his 100th appearance for England if selected for the San Marino game prior to that, but has come in for criticism after attacking the Football Association over the ruling on his friend and team mate John Terry's four match suspension for being found guilty of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.
"It is something that would need an awful lot of consideration and you would need to discuss it with Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard, who have been captaining the team. It is not something you should take lightly. It is certainly worthy of consideration."
