Palmeiras on the brink after tribunal rules against them
Palmeiras are staring at the possibility of relegation from the Brazilian Championship after a tribunal ruled against them in an appeal against a 2-1 defeat to Internacional.
Hernan Barcos punched the ball into the net to apparently level up the scores in the game, but after a delay the goal was disallowed, but Palmeiras appealed because they believed video evidence had been used to make the decision.
The Copa do Brasil winners lost the appeal on Thursday however, meaning they are seven points adrift with just four games left.
