Chelsea had looked strong earlier in the campaign but have fallen away over the last couple of months.

After their defeat in the Club World Cup final, the 25-year-old said: "I am sad because I said before the game this is one competition I really wanted to win.

"But I lost a final and now I am going to look for another title in my life.

"I play for a big club and I need to win and I need to win big titles, so Chelsea must now try to win the Premier League."
