Benzema named French footballer of the year
Karim Benzema has been named the French footballer of the year.The Real Madrid star has been in prolific form this calendar year for the Spanish club, helping them win La Liga.
He beat Franck Ribery, the Bayern Munich winger, and Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris, to the prize.
