Fulham willing to let Riise leave

Fulham manager Martin Jol has admitted he is willing to let Norwegian defender John Arne Riise leave the club in January.

Riise has fallen down the pecking order at Craven Cottage and has admitted that he is considering leaving the club.

The former Liverpool star's contract with the Cottagers is set to expire at the end of the season.

"I feel John Arne Riise is such a good guy and a good player that he deserves to play." Jol told the Fulham Chronicle.

"I can't give him that because Kieran is more energetic, which is what I need.

"If he's not playing he's at an age where he should play games. That's his idea as well."

"He can only play left-back and I need players on the bench who can play in different positions," Jol added.
