Messi thrilled at Mascherano deal

Leo Messi has spoken of his pleasure that Barcelona have extended Javier Mascherano's contract.

The Argentine will remain at the Nou Camp until 2016 after agreeing the new deal.

"Mascherano has become a key player for us," said Messi.

"Since Guardiola played him in central defence, I don't think he has had a bad game."
