Fenerbahce close in on Chelsea midfielder

Turkish giants Fenerbahce are closing in on the signing of Portuguese midfielder Raul Meireles from Chelsea.

Fenerbahce are in talks with the Blues over the transfer of the 29-year-old.

Meireles has fallen down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge following a summer of heavy investment in the squad at Chelsea.

The midfielder has long been linked with a move away from Chelsea and now looks set to complete a move to Fenerbahce before the Turkish transfer window closes on September 5th.
