Schalke fans banned from taking flags to Ruhr derby

Schalke's fans will not be able to take banners or flags to the derby with Borussia Dortmund this weekend.

Dortmund took the measure, citing misbehaviour of Schalke fans in last year's derby.

"All other fan instruments such as flags and banners should not be brought," said Dortmund in a statement. "The reason is the misbehaviour of some Schalke fans at the last derby in Dortmund."
