Leo Messi scored a brilliant hat trick to guide Barcelona to a 5-4 win over Deportivo.

The win at El Riazor means that Barcelona are three points ahead of Atletico Madrid, who play Real Sociedad on Sunday.

Messi's hat trick moves him to within four goals of Pele's record for goals in a calendar year.
