Reina shocked by Valdes decision

Pepe Reina has said he was surprised to learn that Victor Valdes did not want to renew his contract at Barcelona.

Valdes will leave the club in 2014 after the end of his contract after he refused to discuss an extension.

Reina, linked as a replacement for Valdes, and who also came up through the Barcelona youth system, said: "That surprised me because Victor plays for the best club in the world.

"I know, because I’m from Barcelona, developed as a footballer and a man."
