Such reports were fuelled by comments from Milan supremo Silvio Berlusconi to Mediaset, when he said he hoped to sign the player he considers the 'heir to Andrea Pirlo'.

"Berlusconi should talk with PSG, he has a good relationship with Leonardo [PSG sporting director, ed.]", Donato di Campli told Tutto Mercato.
