Pardew looks to wrap up Ba contract

Alan Pardew is keen to wrap up Demba Ba’s contract in January and avoid him leaving the club for a cut price fee.

It is well known that Ba has a £7.5 million release clause in his contract, which a number of clubs are looking at taking advantage of.

“I won’t let his current contract run on in the summer,” Ba said. “I’ll do something about it. We’ll either move Demba on or secure him. I think we’ll have to make a decision because of his age and his situation. If he isn’t going to renew with us we can’t have this hanging over us anymore.”
