Parker hopes for England stay

Scott Parker wants to fight off competition for his place with England and stay in the national team squad.

Parker has just been relegated with West Ham but has performed admirably in adversity and has forced his way into the England squad.

He said: “My aim now is to be there come this time next year. I know there is a long way to go and things can change. I need to keep performing because there are so many players behind me, for club and country, who are willing to take my place.”
