Sevilla president rules out move for Man Utd keeper

Valdes has been told he can leave Old Trafford and came close to moving to Turkey in the summer.

The 33-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Sevilla, but the Spanish club’s president, Jose Castro, insists they will not be signing the Spaniard.

“Valdes is not an option. We have no intention of finding goalkeeping cover,” Castro told Spanish news agency Europa Pass.

“We have three or four players for that position and Sergio Rico is the one closest to keeping it for many years.

“If we have good keepers, we don’t have to go looking elsewhere for them.”
