Six teams qualify for Champions League knockout round

Six sides booked places in the knockout stages of the Champions League last night.

Borussia Dortmund clinched their spot as winners of Group D with a 4-1 win away to Ajax, with Real Madrid following them through after a 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

Schalke 04 and Arsenal both progressed after 1-0 and 2-0 wins over Olympiakos and Montpellier respectively in their group.

AC Milan and Paris St Germain also secured their passage through behind Malaga and Porto in their respective groups.
