Skrtel set to sign new Liverpool deal

Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel is reportedly close to agreeing a new contract with Liverpool.

The 27-year-old has two years left on his current contract with the Reds, but has recently been linked with a move away from the club.

The Sun reports that Skrtel is set to sign a new four-year contract with the club.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is keen for the defender to sign a new long-term contract with the club.

Skrtel joined Liverpool in January 2008.
