The Gunners have agreed personal terms with the player, whom Madrid have tried to persuade to stay, but Higuain seems set on a move to Arsenal.
However the Londoners are refusing to meet Madrid’s asking price, after the Spanish side dramatically increased the fee for the player despite having previously indicated a deal could be done for a fee in the region of 25 million euros.
