Terry retires from international football

John Terry has retired from international football, a day before a hearing in front of the FA for allegedly racially abusing a fellow professional takes place.

Terry is due to defend himself in front of the FA over the allegation that he racially abused Anton Ferdinand, having already been cleared by an English court of the charge.

But if the BBC is accurate in its report that Terry has quit international football, it would be a sign that the player is set to face a hefty punishment from the FA.
