Two officials sidelined after Man Utd clash

The two officials at the centre of the penalty bust-up in the clash between Manchester United and Newcastle have been sidelined.

Referee Mike Jones and his assistant John Flynn have been snubbed for the Premier League this weekend.

United were left fuming on Saturday when Jones, advised by Flynn, awarded Newcastle a penalty after Rio Ferdinand had played the ball when he tackled Hatem Ben Arfa.

Flynn is scheduled to feature in the Carling Cup quarter-final clash between Cardiff and Blackburn tonight, but will not feature in the Premier League in the near future.
