Wenger wants early Christmas present

Arsene Wenger wants a good Christmas present when his team face their draw for the second round of the Champions League.

Arsenal have had little luck in recent years, being drawn with Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan when winning previous groups in the past, and they came second in their group after a 2-1 loss to Olympiakos last night.

“We need a good Christmas present,” Wenger said, with a nod towards the last 16 draw on 20 December. “The disadvantage is that we have to play the second game away, although it’s not statistically proven that it’s a disadvantage. The important thing now is to focus on the championship and get ourselves back in decent form.”
