Qatar paid for votes, alleges Parliamentarian

Conservative MP Damian Collins has alleged that two FIFA Executive Committee members were paid $1.5 million each to vote for Qatar.

Collins, speaking at the Select Committee on Sports, Culture and Media in London, revealed that evidence from the Sunday Times showed that Issa Hayatou and Jacques Anouma had received the payment from the Qatari team.

He added that the pair subsequently may have voted for Qatar’s 2022 World Cup bid.
