The former Kaiserslautern and Valerenga boss has agreed a deal that will keep him at the club until 2011.
Rekdal’s agent Tron Mathisen told TV2: “He (Rekdal) has decided to join Aalesund. We have managed to secure a good deal, and I have given him my recomendations.
“We have negotiated with Aalesund for a while and it has been a good process.”
