SPL clash postponed

The match was postponed by referee Willie Collum because of a waterlogged pitch.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “After a 5.30pm pitch inspection by match referee Willie Collum, tonight’s game against Hamilton has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.”

“Our prime focus is to ensure the pitch is safe. On this occasion it’s unsafe for players,” Collum told Sky Sports News.

“We (the match officials) are as frustrated as everybody. We would like the match to go ahead. We’re here, it would be great to get the game on.

“But first and foremost we must consider players’ safety. On this occasion we cannot guarantee that.

“I’ve had a good run about the field with the assistants and the fourth official, and obviously there’s a real problem here at this park.”
