The new deal will keep the Denmark international at Stoke until the summer of 2014.
Sorensen said on his Twitter account: “Just signed a new contract this morning. Proud to be a Potter for another 2 1/2 years.”
The 35-year-old has made 13 appearances for Stoke this season.
