Scandinavian scout Jakob Friis-Hansen has revealed that the Reds are interested in signing the 25-year-old.
Wendt’s current contract at the Danish clubs is set to expire at the end of the season.
“We are keeping a good eye on Oscar,” Friis-Hansen told The Expressen.
“He does a great job, but he must play at a high level every week. In Denmark there are just a few high-quality games.”
