The 32-year-old is currently back-up for Allan McGregor at Ibrox.
He said: “The manager has spoken to me in the past year about trying to get a new contract sorted. I have a year left but it would be great to extend it.
“I love being at Rangers and I want to be part of a squad chal lenging for trophies and playing in big games for the next few years.
“We spoke about it last Januar y and tried to get it sorted.
“However, with the situation surrounding the club , we didn’t quite manage to get there.
“But I’ve spoken to my agent and I’m get t ing things sorted.
“I know the club has things going on and I am not a high priority at the moment but so long as I’m wanted by Rangers, I want to stay.
“Maybe by the time Christmas comes around we can get everything sorted out for me to sign.”
