Deschamps hails Spain ahead of qualifier

Didier Deschamps has warned his France team that they will take on a side on Tuesday with better individual and collective qualities than them.

France meet the World and European champions Spain, hoping to secure a huge win in Madrid on the road to Brazil 2014.

“Spain are the best team in the world,” Deschamps told the France Football Federation website. “But our players have faith. We have an opportunity to take something from the game, so we must play the game to the best of our abilities.

“We have to be effective in front of goal, because we had a lot chances [in our 1-0 friendly loss] against Japan last Friday.

“We will undoubtedly face difficulties against the Spanish. We should not deny the fact that they have better individual and collective quality than we do. But we have to be convinced of our own ability and confident we can win.”
