The 22-year-old has been second choice to Ante Covic for some time.
“During his time at the club Ben has displayed not only what great potential he has on the field, but a great maturity and professional demeanour off it,” club CEO John Tsatsimas said this afternoon.
“He is a Newcastle boy that has developed with the club over a period of many years and it’s fantastic to see him claim the number 1 jersey.”
He added: “Obviously Ben has a great deal of natural talent, and he is quite young by goalkeeping standards so we look forward to watching him grow in stature in Jets colours over the next few years.”
