Van Marwijk’s current contract is set to expire after the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine next summer.
Van Marwijk took over as Holland coach after the 2008 European Championship.
His agent Rob Jansen told De Telegraaf newspaper: “It is likely that we will soon come to an agreement. Formally. Then follows the effects on paper.
“Both parties want to extend the deal so it looks good. We are talking about a contact until 2016.”
