Mendez is unhappy with life in the Netherlands and is keen on leaving PSV this summer.
“The club knows that I want to leave PSV this summer. My family and me are eager to return to Ecuador to the rest of the family. I want to play for a club back home again,” said the 30-year-old to Eindhovens Dagblad.
“However, I’m aware of the fact that I still have a contract at PSV. Therefore, any interested teams have to reach an agreement with PSV first.
“My family is very important to me. I’ve been in Holland for three years now and the desire to return to Ecuador is getting stronger by the day. I’m ready to go home now.
“I’m very glad that I got the chance to play for PSV. I’ve always felt more than welcome. However, I’m a bit disappointed about my performances here. I was unable to find my best form in Eindhoven.”
