Roar coach Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that he and Millar has agreed a termination of his contract.
“We’re currently in the process of evaluating our squad for next season and at this point Charlie wasn’t guaranteed a place in the squad,” Postecoglou said.
“Charlie and I discussed the matter and while we’d hoped he would stay until January, he made it clear it was time he moved on to pursue other opportunities.
“We certainly don’t want to stand in the way of a professional footballer earning a living and we agreed to his request. Charlie’s impact on this club, particularly last season, cannot be underestimated. He has been a fantastic player and we wish him all the very best for the future.
“However, it is now time for us to focus on the long-term future of the club and we will be doing that over the coming months.”
