The 25-year-old is currently on a week-long trial with Rangers and is confident he can score 25-plus goals a season if he joins the club.
Welcome told the Daily Record: “I have other options but all I want to do is come here and score goals for Rangers.
“I scored a lot of goals in Honduras and I’m sure I can do the same thing over here.
“I believe I am capable of scoring 25-plus goals a season. If I didn’t believe that I wouldn’t be here.”
He continued: “I’m very happy to be in Glasgow and I’m keen to stay here.
“This is a big opportunity for me and I’ve got to work hard to make sure I take it.
“I will give everything in training as it would mean everything for me and my family to play for Rangers.”
Welcome added: “Hopefully the work permit won’t be a problem. I am not worried about that.
“My only concern is to win a contract. Everybody in Honduras wants me to remain in Scotland and I don’t want to go back.”
