37 year old Dickov is making is managerial debut this season with the League One side and was quick to praise the worth ethic of his players.
He said: “The players worked hard and there was a lot of passion out there.
“We got the result we deserved and I am sure we will get better as time goes on.
“It was a good three points for us but we’ve got to keep our feet firmly on the ground. It is one game out of 46 and we must not get carried away.”
