The 27-year-old’s current contract at Hearts is set to expire at the end of the season.
Hearts have the option of extending his stay by a further 12 months.
“Ismael would like to stay,” said agent Thomas Boehm.
“But I can’t say anything more at the moment because I must talk to the Hearts director Sergejus Fedotovas first and then come to Edinburgh next week.”
