The 34-year-old’s current contract with Bolton expires in the summer.
Reports have suggested Bolton could decide to cash in on the striker in the January transfer window.
“We will absolutely not sell Kevin in the window,” said Coyle. “He is a terrific player who has a big role to play for us in the future.
“He is desperate to return to the level of last year when he was playing for England.”
