Sports Minister Vitaly Mutko was quoted as saying after talks with Fabio Capello, the former England coach “I think we had good impressions on each other. Our talks will continue.
“Because of a limited time frame I think we will name a new coach early next week, give or take a few days to complete all the paperwork.”
The Russian Football Union ultimately responsible for naming the new coach is currently without a President.
