McLeod joined Charlton from MK Dons earlier this month for £1.1million.
Pardew said: “He is direct and doesn’t hesitate to shoot. If teams come at us — especially away from home — he is going to be a threat.
“There will be things he will have to tune up, but we like the look of him and there is no reason why he can’t be a success.”
