The 34-year-old dislocated his left shoulder in the 2-0 win at home to Cesena on Saturday.
“I believe Nesta will be out for two to three weeks and will miss six to seven games,” said the club’s vice-president Adriano Galliani.
Scans have revealed that there was no fracture or ligament damage.
