Australia boss admits they must beat Ghana and Serbia

Australia coach Pim Verbeek admits they must win their matches against Serbia and Ghana.

The Socceroos suffered a 4-0 defeat to Germany on Sunday.

“The moment you lose this game, you have two finals,” Verbeek told SBS TV.

“We know what we have to do, beat Serbia and Ghana. It is that simple.”

Germany striker Lukas Podolski gave Germany the lead after just eight minutes.

“The last thing you want is a goal after ten minutes – that was not the plan, of course. We took some time to get over that,” added Verbeek.
