Bin Hammam is alleged to have conspired with vice-president of FIFA Jack Warner to offer bribes to CONCACAF executives to vote for the Qatari, in allegations similar to those facing Blatter and Hammam in 1998 when the Swiss won a shock victory.
The disgraced Qatari is adamant that he will fight the election despite the claims.
“He’s going to present his case, to get his name cleared and is very confident he will do so,” an Asian Confederation official, who wished to remain anonymous, told Reuters.
“It will be business as usual. There is no chance he will withdraw from the election.”
