The new deal will keep the Icelandic forward at the club until 2011.
Bjarnason spent last season on loan at Bodo/Glimt, but is now looking forward to play for Viking again.
“I have been out with an injury for two months now, so first I will fight to return to my best form. Then I will do my best in training and try to get into the team”, said Bjarnason.
