Bond completes Colchester move

Bond, formally of Crewe, helped helped Barrow to win promotion to the Blue Square Premier and ended his time at the non-league club by winning the FA Trophy.

Manager John Ward told the club’s official website: “Andy is an energetic and powerful midfield player.

“He is hard working and a real runner, he has a real willingness to go and get involved in the game. He is composed on the ball, and good in the air.

“Barrow did very well in getting promoted into the Blue Square Premier and he was an integral part of that.

“I don’t see a problem in him stepping up,” he continued. “The Blue Square Premier is a very strong league and there are some good players in that division.

“He will fit in nicely and is a strong character, and I am sure that he’ll enjoy the challenge.”
