Boskovic joined Major League Soccer side DC United in the summer and he believes LA Galaxy star Beckham could still be a key player for the Three Lions.
Boskovic said: “England need David Beckham.
“I played against him in his first game back after his injury and he was unbelievable.
“It was amazing how physically strong he was and how much he ran after such a bad injury – and all at the age of 35.
“And did you see the free-kick he scored the other week against Chivas? He is playing really well at the moment.
“I don’t know for how long but I think he could still do well for England – and not just on the field.
“He is a leader and, as the ex-captain, he could really help them off the pitch with his character and charisma.”
