William Gallas headed in the controversial winner for France after Thierry Henry appeared to twice handle the ball before crossing.
“From the 120 minutes, they [Ireland’s players] deserved to win and it is a shameful day for football when something like that happens,” Irish assistant boss Brady told Sky Sports News.
“When it comes to the crunch, the big teams always seem to go through. With the draw, they were wanting Portugal and France to go through and they did.”
