The 29-year-old’s current deal expires in June 2011 and was signed just recently, but now Novakovic is keen on a new deal.
“We are really happy to have him, but he has to keep waiting,” Meier told Express.
“We just signed an extension until June 2011 and strikingly increased his wages. We have been keeping faith in him when criticism was harsh at the beginning here.
“After promotion he then has been given that massive lift in wages and we are really happy about his performances. But we are definitely not digging back into negotiations after barely six months.”
