Copenhagen boss delighted with win over Rubin Kazan

Dame N’Doye scored the only goal of the game as the Danes got off to a winning start in this season’s Champions League.

“I said before the match that we would win 1-0,” Solbakken told Jv.dk. “It is the first time we have beaten a great European team.

“They saw us play along the wings and closed down our spaces. That is why we did not create as many chances as we wanted.

“The players were shocked by the tempo of the match. I could see during the half-time break they were feeling it.

“But on the night, we were a little better than them, and that is what I am most proud of. The victory gives us some peace and confidence in our next matches.”
