Del Bosque to be handed new Spain deal

The new deal will keep him in the Spain hot-seat past next summer’s World Cup in South Africa.

Del Bosque succeeded Luis Aragones in 2008, following Spain’s win of the European Championship crown.

His current deal is set to expire after the World Cup next summer.

“I spoke with Del Bosque about the prospect of renewing his contract for two more years and he expressed his agreement,” said Spanish Football Federation president Angel Maria Villar.

“We have not signed the contract renewal, but his word is important. We have full confidence in our coach, as can be seen from the results so far.”
